In response to some press publications regarding the statements made yesterday by the Chairman of the BoD and CEO, Mr. Tryfon Kollintzas, before the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament, the Management of Attica Bank announces the following:

The Boards of Directors of the Bank of Attica S.A. and Attikis Leasing S.A., decided on December 18th and December 12th 2006 respectively, that Attikis Leasing will be merged with the Bank of Attica S.A. according to the provisions of laws  2190/1920, 2166/1993 and 2515/1997 (art. 16).

Regarding information appearing on the press about a capital increase of the Bank of Attica, the Bank wishes to inform the public that a capital increase is indeed among the Bank’s plans.

Death of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, A. Koumplis

With this short note the Board of Directors and the staff of Attica Bank would like to express their sorrow for the sudden death of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Anastasios Koumplis.
